You gotta listen to it to really understand it.Īs far as me and my team, the Carolina wave we got, we’re gonna make it known and stamped how we coming. What is it you want fans to get from your story? There’s DME (Dirty Money Entertainment) which is me, then I got a partnership with South Coast Music Group (SCMG). I was going to drop a project in February on Valentine’s Day named Blue Roses, but I pushed it back. I got a project coming out in May for sure. Even if they don’t see me yet, they gon’ see me. What can we expect from you music-wise?Ĭold! I’m going hard, staying consistent. I been told them we gotta get one in, we just made it happen. Once I made the record, I was like “I hear Key Glock on this.” Paper Route, they be rocking with me. This girl from high school was calling me Blacc Zacc and I liked it. What was the inspiration behind your name? You know, you get more support outside your city. I get more love elsewhere, but my fan base at home love me too. How does your fan base back home compare to elsewhere? Back then, they’re looking to see like “who’s this?” When we walk on stage now, they have their cameras out waiting for me. I’ve been taking it serious but it got real for me this past year.

It’s just a different feel, I like the vibe.Īt what point did you realize this music thing was forreal? It’s just as important to come to LA as it is Atlanta, New York, and all the other major cities. How important is it to come to LA as an up and coming artist? They always looking at you, you’re their role model for real. What’s the biggest lesson learned from fatherhood? I have 2 kids: one is 8 and one just turned 5. My crib’s in Atlanta, but my kids are still there so I’m back and forth. I’m just one of the many who’s going to come behind me. But we got a lot of talented artists down there doing their thing. People have a perception about South Carolina, they think we’re just country.

I like to put on for my city and let ‘em know how we’re coming. How does South Carolina play into your life and career?

Ain’t no cap in my raps, how can you not fuck with me? We caught up with Blacc Zacc in sunny Los Angeles the same day he opened for Da Baby at The Roxy.įor those who don’t know, who is Blacc Zacc?īecause I’m the realest doing it. Most recently, he followed up his 2018 project Blacc Frost with a banger titled “HaHaHa” featuring Key Glock. Taking pride in his unique sound and authenticity, the 27-year-old is a vivid storyteller, captivating audiences through first-person accounts and experiences growing up in the South. Hailing from South Carolina and probably one of the most iced-out individuals you’ll meet out his hometown of Colombia, real name Zachary Chapman is a rapper, entrepreneur, label-owner, and father, who is not stopping until he reaches the top.
